5 months old

The twins turned 5 months old yesterday! It is very hard to believe that they have been in our world that long! It just seems like yesterday that we were driving to the hospital :)
Kinley and Kason and myself are adjusting well to the helmets now :) They seem to sleep just fine with them, and I am quite used to them wearing them all the time! They are still my adorable little munchkins! Kason's helmet is now sporting the braves logo, but Mommy hasn't had much time to finish painting Kinley's yet...sorry sis!

They do get to take off their helmets for one hour a day and this is when they eat their solid foods and take their bath. Here is a picture of Kason starting to sit by himself and smiling away at his sissy!

Taryn and Taylor spent the night last Friday when Jason was in Joplin for a tournament....we took the babies to their first movie. They did just great! I did have 2 sets of twins with me :) Oh, by the way, my kids are NEVER going to a movie theatre late at night! Starworld was scary! I didn't realize how many "Groups" of kids just hang out there and cause trouble in the parking lot! I was scared just walking to my car and the same group of "cool guys" that were there when we went in were still there when we came out! Not to mention the other 15 groups randomly scattered throughout the parking lot, grabbing on to cars as they drove by, etc. Eeek! No thank you!

Kinley and Kason had their first big boy/girl bath yesterday! They sat in their bath seats and had a good time, I think! They were pretty confused about what was going on, but they seemed to like it ok.....we signed them up for Diaper Dolphins swim class this summer at Miller Swim School. They will go once a week with us and I am super excited about it! Sharon & Cap and Kelly & Parker are supposed to be in the same class also!

Picking up the helmets

Well, we traveled to Dallas yesterday to pick up the helmets. I was all pysched out for the event until they brought the helmets in and actually put them on the kids. Then, I was a little freaked out! The technician is extremely nice (as are all the people who work in the office) but when she left the room, I just looked at both of them and couldn't stop crying! I did manage to pull it together before she came back in, thank goodness. She would have probably thought I was a crazy person! Last time I was there, I cried too! "Geez, what's with this emotional whinebag?" I think I have my emotions under control now, and have accepted the situation! Of course I know that this is what they need and that we are only helping them for the future, but that doesn't take away the fact that they have to wear these hideous things around for awhile!

We did find out that it wouldn't be as long as we thought.....maybe only 10 weeks! So, that's something great to look forward to! 70 days doesn't sound bad at all :)

Tonight, I painted the helmets, because the white is WAY too medical looking :) Kason's in navy blue and Kinley's is bright pink. Eventually, Kason's will be an Atlanta Braves helmet (imagine that) and Kinley's will be polka dot (imagine that!)
The kiddos did just great in them this last 24 hours and have not had any problems. They don't seem to mind them at all, so that is also a blessing! They slept through the night the first night with them on AND it was on the floor in a hotel room, so that's a great sign!

A smile that will melt your heart

Everytime I look at this smile, my heart melts! I'm sure yours will, too! He is just so precious....

Dinner with Uncle Nick & Aunt Kelly

On Sunday night, we went to Nick and Kelly's and had dinner with the kids. We had a great time and talked about our trip that's coming up in July. We will be traveling to San Diego with all three kids, so everyone please pray for us now! It will definitely be interesting!
Check out Parker eating a lemon :)

Kinley's Progress

Kinley has been improving every single day with her neck! (I couldn't get her to look at the camera for the photo though)

Kinley has done so well that she is soaring right past her brother. She will stay on her tummy for a LONG period of time, while Kason gets tired and whines after just a few minutes! Here I am doing "tummy time" with them. Kristin says that this is just an excuse to do an old cheerleading pose! Hee Hee

Kinley is also in the process of learning to sit up :) She will sit with her hands between her legs and hold herself up for quite awhile.

Kason won't do this at all, so I'm afraid I'm going to have to stop comparing them to each other now! I guess all it took was a straighter neck for Kinley to show us her stuff! Since I've noticed the difference, I have started to work with Kason more on these things, so maybe he can keep up with sissy! Can't have her beat him in everything! He is the talker of the two though....he loves to gab :)
The twins have matching giraffe bathing suits, but because I got them on clearance last year, they only had 0-3 months and Kinley has almost grown out of hers! So, I had to throw them on and take some pictures before it was too late :)

Aubrey Daley

On Aunt Sarah's birthday, April 5th, Aubrey Daley was born! Kinley and Kason visited the hospital to see her and it is amazing how big they seemed! I'm sure they will all be great friends :)

Jewelry Party w/ Cap and Parker

Well, the kids went with Mommy to a jewelry party at Sharon's mother-in-law's on Wednesday....Parker and Cap were there to play. The only problem was that it started at seven and the twins were pooped and ready to go to bed just about when we got there. They did make it until 8 and then I put them to bed until we left. They do tend to get a tad cranky at this time of night, but they didn't do too bad over there :) They went right to sleep on Miss Eddie's bed!

When they first got there, I couldn't wake Kason up. This is where you see him completely passed out while Cap is trying to play with them. It was so cute! He pointed to Kinley and then he would point to Kason like he was showing me who they were :) Then, Kinley kept trying to turn and eat his foot, and he didn't quite know what to think about that!

There are a few adorable pictures of Parker and Aunt Kelly with the kids on here as well!

Cap and Parker got along great :) Cap even fed Parker some gerber snacks....that was hilarious!

K&K Dance Factory

Daddy made a hilarious video on Movie Maker of the kids....check it out!

Easter Photo's

Since we knew that we would be going to church on Easter morning but probably wouldn't have anyone to take our photo, we took it the day before and just went ahead and put on our clothes! Jason was very thrilled about this and so were the kids....but at least I got my picture!
The outside photo was freezing cold, so we came in to take pics by the fireplace instead. The funny thing was that Kason wouldn't look at the camera, so Jim, Lynda, Grandma, and Pam all started jumping around and making weird noises (like we all do when trying to get kids to look at the camera). Well, I don't know if you've ever been on the receiving end of this charade, but I never had and I just about peed my pants laughing so hard! 4 grown people jumping up and down and screaming weird things is HILARIOUS! And then, to make matters worse, it scared Kinley to death and she started screaming! Kason, he never even looked up! I will forever hold this memory :)
