Happy Valentine's Day

On Valentine's Day, the four of us went to church and then Mommy went to see Sleeping Beauty at the ballet with Nana. The kids seem to be getting better at being dropped off in the nursery. I always have to go check on them to make sure they are ok before I can enjoy the church service! (I know, crazy huh?)
The kids got whistles at Kash's birthday party and in the pictures below, they are trying to whistle as well as swing them at each other :)

They are leaning in to give each other kisses in this picture!

Winter Fun!

We had another snow at the end of January but this time we were at home! We bundled the kids up one day and took them outisde to touch and feel the snow. It was almost naptime when we took them out so they were a little crabby, but we didn't stay out long. They didn't quite understand that you can walk in the snow and it was funny!

Does your Mommy know that you are in the fireplace?

I was watching the kids play the other day and they really worked together on this one! They pulled the fireplace screen away from the fireplace and then figured out that they could actually climb right on in! I don't think our fireplace has ever even been used, so it was actually fairly clean :) I grabbed my camera to get a couple pictures before letting them know that this isn't allowed!

Kinley's tubes

I don't know if everyone knows the whole story of Kinley's ears, but this has definitely been a drawn out ordeal. First, she had to have a hearing test at 6 months because she had been in the NICU....so, when they gave her the test at 9 months at the dr.'s office, the person that gave it to her had never done it before. It told her to refer her so we scheduled an ABR at St. Francis. Lynda and Sarah took her in September to have the test done. About a week later, we got a report from St. Francis that Kinley was completely deaf in her right ear! So, I had a freak-out and started trying little tricks, etc. to see if she could hear out of that ear! We never noticed any problem with her hearing whatsoever and were very confused. Her pediatrician then told us to make an appt with the Ear, Nose, and Throat doctor. So, three weeks later, we saw Dr. White. First, they checked her hearing in many different ways and found no problem. I told the Dr. that Kinley had been pulling the ear thing out of her right ear during her test and then he asked, "Wait a minute, was she not sedated? If she wasn't sedated, that is a completely invalid ABR." So, we rescheduled her sedated ABR for the ear, nose, and throat place. When we went in to have the test done, she had fluid in her right ear. They told me that we would need to wait until the fluid was gone. (She had fluid left over from a double ear infection) So, we rescheduled for 3 weeks later and she had fluid again. He told us that if she still had fluid 3 weeks later, then she would need to get tubes. So, inevitably, she still had fluid three weeks later.
On January 22nd, we took her in to get tubes. She was pretty funny when they gave her the "goofy juice" but it was really scary when they rolled her away in that big bed all by herself!

I was definitely not prepared for the horror after the tubes! For instance, my child was possessed! I have never seen anything like it! She freaked out completely for a good 30 minutes and no one seemed concerned at all! They said it was normal, but it was FAR from normal!
Finally, she calmed down and everything has been great since! (We still have not re-taken the ABR, but I guess we will see if the dr. recommends it next time we have a check-up.)

Incredible Pizza

In January, we took the kids to Incredible Pizza again! Nana went with us this time and took some great pictures :) The kids LOVE pizza and scarfed down a ton of it before we went back to the play area! They have a wonderful baby area in the back corner. They added a race car and flinstones car since we were there last time and this time, the kids learned how to climb the ladder in the bouncy toy and slide down the slide! The race car goes around a track all by itself and the train does, too.....the babies think that they are SO big when they ride them!
Kason absolutely loves the race car and train as well as the horsey! Trust me though, one hour in there really wears you out! You feel like you just did an hour of Zumba!

Christmas at Grammy and Boppy's

We celebrated Christmas with Grammy & Boppy (Pam & Terry) very late this year because they were in San Antonio for Christmas. We all met over there on New Year's Eve during the day! The plan was to eat lunch, spend time together and then go home in time for the kids to go to bed! Instead, we had no New Year's plans, so we all stayed and had a fabulous time playing board games until about 11:30pm.....the kids did not stay up that late! We made it home just in time to celebrate the new year together :) Welcome 2010! I hope this year is as perfect as last year!

Kinley and Kason got Rock Roll 'n Ride trikes from Grammy and Boppy! Right now, they are rockers, then they turn into push trikes and then regular tricycles! I think this is the funniest picture of Kason! What kind of face is he making? hee hee

What a Beautiful White Christmas!

We bundled up the kids the day after Christmas and took them out in the snow! It was freezing cold and we didn't really have any good clothes for it, so we stayed outside for about 3 minutes, but of course we snapped some pictures first!!

Christmas Morning

When we woke up on Christmas morning, we saw this! It was a beautiful White Christmas!

On Christmas morning, the kids woke up about 7 am. Santa brought a few things for the kids that they got to play with right when they got up! They got a Mickey Mouse rocking horse and Pink Pony rocking horse as well as a Little People house and Little People farm. They were excited about their new things!

After everyone got up and around, the kids opened their stockings!

After the stockings were emptied, the kids were ready for their nap....so, they went to sleep whil we all opened our stockings and presents! It worked out perfectly! Gigi wrapped mine and Sarah's present with a code! We had to figure out the puzzle to tell us where our presents were :)

When the kids woke up, we put their Christmas outfits on and they opened their presents! I swear that we opened presents for 15 hours that day! Can't say it wasn't fun though :) Everytime Kinley opened a baby, she would say "Hi" in her cute little sing-song voice.

She liked this present so much that she couldn't wait for us to take it out of the box! She just jumped right on it right in the box!
